Android OS and iPhones still lead in the US
According to research analyst comScore, Apple was the top smartphone manufacturer in the US while Android remains the top mobile operating system in the States for 2013’s Quarter 3.
Apple claimed 40.6% of the market share, Samsung came second at 24.9% while HTC, Motorola and LG followed each other closely at 7.1, 6.8 and 6.6 percents respectively.
In the operating system game, Android held 51.7% of the US market share, loosing 0.2% of it’s share of the pie from the previous Quarter. Apple moved from 39.9 to 40.6 percent, while Blackberry lost 0.6% to stay at 3.8%. Windows OS on mobile phones grew with 0.2% to 3.3% of the market share while Symbian remained dormant at %0.3.
