Between the Lenovo K3 Note and Asus Zenfone 2: All LTE and affordable
How would you define a brilliant phone? Most probably, a combination of decent specs and an intriguing design. When mobile manufacturing companies come up with such features for their flagship devices, it definitely can be considered a great deal for buyers. Moreover, if one is able to get a better price with such features, they are most definitely hitting a jackpot. That being said, there have been many such phones coming up recently. And, most of these phones are being manufactured by companies that have joined the smartphone world a little late than other top and well-known brands. It might be possible that they have been old players in the world of mobile phones, but entering the major market can be seen in the late 2000s only.
Among these, Lenovo has been a player whose electronic gadgets are quite popular around the world. Lenovo does not really need any introduction when people try to understand what the company offers to the people. Similar rule applies to another popular company – Asus. Both have been there providing users with computers, laptops etc. And, now they come up to show their flagship smartphones which are worth trying out. The Lenovo K3 Note has been recently launched in the year 2015, which is being compared to Asus Zenfone 2. While both phones are quite capable in their own respective ways, the real difference comes up when the two are compared side by side. This would also help people with confusions in their mind related to the selection among these two phones.
Externals: Design and Display:
While both screens possess a 5.5 inch display, there is a major difference in the resolution. The Asus Zenphone 2 offers a 1280 by 720 pixels screen with ~267 ppi. On the other hand, you get a 1920 by 1080 pixels screen in the Lenovo K3 Note which has ~401 ppi. Clearly, the screen on the K3 Note is sharper and of more high-definition. This can definitely make many feel for choosing the latter as it has a better screen. But, that does not mean that Zenphone 2’s screen is bad. It too is capable of showing a decent resolution and the pixels won’t scatter if looked through a normal distance. Moreover, both screens are IPS LCD capacitive, so the touch pad in both is quite smooth and efficient. Besides these, you get light sensor, proximity sensor, etc. in both. Also, the interface offered in the two budget LTE smartphones are Asus ZenUI in the Zenphone 2 and Lenovo vibe 2.0 in the K3 Note.
Internals: Software and Hardware:
The Asus Zenphone 2 offers an Android v5.0 (Lollipop) with Intel Atom Z3560 chipset. You also get Quad-core 1.8 GHz which is powered by PowerVR G6430 GPU. On the other hand, you also get Android v5.0 (lollipop) in the Lenovo K3 Note. The chipset in this beauty is MediaTek MT6752 supported by Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53. You also get Mali-T760MP2 GPU to support it. Besides these specs, both have 2 GB RAM with 16 GB ROM. Both also have expandable memory slots. The Asus Zenphone 2 is, however, provided with an expansion of up to 64 GB while the K3 Note has it up to 32 GB. Both also feature a 3000mAH battery.
Power wise, both phones have a difference in the cores, which makes the two differ in the processing power. However, users will only be able to note the difference when both phones are operated at the same time to check the speed in opening and closing of the apps. Besides this, you won’t be able to get any other major difference in the performance. But, users nowadays like to believe more in facts. And, the fact is that the Octa-core processor is said to be more powerful than the Quad-core. So, the plus point definitely goes to the Lenovo K3 Note here.
Camera and Connectivity:
When we take a look at the cameras of the two phones, we find that both have the same specs. You get a 13 MP primary camera with 4128 by 3096 pixel shooting capacity in both Zenphone 2 and K3 Note. Moreover, you also get autofocus, and dual-LED in both devices. Other features include, panorama, HDR, touch focus, geo-tagging and face detection. The video quality is at 1080p at 30fps. Even the secondary camera In both the phones is 5 MP. So, you will not be able to find any major difference in the cameras of the two phones. Cameras in the two phone might be the same, but you will be able to see sharper pictures in the K3 Note because of a higher resolution screen. This might be a big point that buyers might consider before choosing a phone between the two.
Connectivity-wise also, you will not be able to find any unique quality that makes the two different. The Asus Zenphone 2 has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth v4.0 supported with EDR and A2DP. Lenovo K3 Note offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with hotspot. Both have GPS with GLONASS and A-GPS. Also, both feature FM radio. The usual microUSDB v2.0 with USB Host is also offered. Sensors cover up accelerometer, proximity sensor and compass as common while you get gyro in the K3 Note as an extra sensor. So, the connectivity options are also mostly the same in both the smartphones.
Looking at the two phones, it can be inferred that you might not be able to find much difference in most of the specs of both phones. However, there might be many users who would prefer a better screen with higher resolution. That is one reason Lenovo K3 Note might be a preference compared to the Zenphone 2. You can get the Lenovo K3 Note at 145 USD from the market. On the other hand, the Asus Zenphone 2 is available at 179 USD. Choosing the right LTE budget phone featuring 4G technology is ultimately in your hands.
