Blackberry promises continued support for OS 10 platform even after hardware section closure
After a long battle against competitors and other forces of the market, Blackberry has finally decided to let go of its hardware division, leaving the rest of us that have fallen in love with the brand over years stranded as to what new platform to port to.
As it is with such a decision, we know that the previous devices launched by the OEM would be having issues when it comes to future software updates but as of now, they have released information to put our minds at rest as they would be providing software support for the OS 10 platform, but only for an indefinite while.
To continue to support this device also, they are planning to outsource the development of software updates and support for this platform to other companies so that the user of their latest line of deuces won’t be left without upgrades and reasonable software interaction over time but for now, its engineers are still the ones handling that section.
While we are thinking that there is a possibility of another company wanting to licence the OS 10 software and introduce it into the market, we doubt if any high playing manufacturer would go for that gamble.
