BlackBerry Z3 is doing OK, says CEO
BlackBerry’s alliance with Chinese parts manufacturer, Foxconn, seems to be paying off, thanks to the foresight of John Chen displayed in the early stages of his CEO career at BB.
“In fact, initial inventory of the device nearly sold out in India within two weeks of the launch. We hear from users that they like the price, screen size and battery life. This feedback demonstrates that we are meeting our customers’ needs, which is vital as we work to build share in India.” Chen said.
Asked if BlackBerry will continue bringing affordable smartphones like the Z3 which has a reasonable sub-$300 pricing, the CEO said he doesn’t want to go into details, but promises that the BB Z3 is more than enough for people with tight budgets for smartphones.
