Danger might be lurking behind your Nexus 5X and 6P chargers
Unboxing a brand new cell phone would give you the chance and access to get some other brand new accessories to make your smart life easier and the most common of these accessories that come out of the box is the simple wall charger. How else does the manufacturer expect you to stay juiced up if they can’t provide this simple amenity, right? For most smartphones, there is usually the message that reiterates the importance of using the charger that comes with your device and these are thought to be more safe and reliable for you than others but a new video has suggested that this is not always the case, at least, as seen with the Nexus 5X and 6P.
The Nexus 5X has a failsafe in it that causes it to start emitting power anytime it is plugged into a power source, regardless of whether or not a device is connected to the next end of it. This is not a common thing on other high end chargers as these ones make sure voltage is not generated unless it is plugged to a device. Where this becomes dangerous is that not plugging a device to your wall charger while it is plugged in does not stop it from working and if you should plug this into another USB device, you run the risk of spoiling something.
The same goes for the Nexus 6P likewise might lead to a charge gate so you might want to consider not having reverse connections at all.
