Forget the numbers, we are still India’s number one — Samsung
Samsung has come out to prove that a recent survey and analysis conducted on the Indian smartphone market for the second quarter of 2014 which puts Micromax above the Korean OEM, is false.
Speaking to Economic Times, Samsung’s President & chief executive for south-west Asia, BD Park, said that the numbers from research firm Counterpoint Research were outrightly silly.
Hear him: “In India, there might be 1-2% up or down. Samsung’s market share has doubled over the second place, so what is the meaning of comparing or saying that the gap is narrowing.”
With that, Samsung says it’s still market of the Indian smartphone market, but with Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Oppo present, a downfall might seem inevitable with the way things are turning.
