Gionee Elife S5.1 recorded as world’s thinnest smartphone on Guinness World Records
Yet another phone maker has entered the Book of Guinness World Records. Last week, it was LG and their stupendously large billboard that was mounted in the deserts of Saudi Arabia. And now, it’s Gionee‘s turn to shine; for their ability to build things so small that it attracted the attention of the World Records.
We are talking about the Gionee Elife S5.1 here. With a thickness of 5.1 millimeters, this smartphone collected the crown from it’s Elife S5.5 sibling, though the latter was never formally recognized by the Record Book.

- 139.8 × 67.4 × 5.15 mm body, 95 grams (one of the lightest)
- 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facer

- 2100mAh Li-Ion battery
The Elife S5.1 is yet to launch on a worldwide basis but the phone is currently being retailed at the region of $325 in Gionee’s homeplace of China.
