Gionee Elife S6 headed for the shelves on November 16
Chinese phone maker Gionee had continually teased its upcoming smartphone from the Elife S series. The yet-to-be-announced device is naturally named the Gionee Elife S6 since it succeeds last year’s Gionee Elife S5.1 (previously the thinnest smartphone in the world).
In the Elife S6 teaser pictures, Gionee could be seen taking a shade at Apple and Xiaomi (even as our limited knowledge of Chinese couldn’t get us beyond these meanings). It looks like they also took at jab to Umi (Umi Hammer) in the image in the center as well.
Very little is particularly known about the Elife S6 but according to reports, a Gionee device with the model number GN9007 that was approved by TEENA last month is actually the Elife S6 hiding under an alias.
GN9007, according to the TEENA listing, is sporting a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB ROM, microSD card slot, a 13MP main camera with LED flash, 8MP front-facing secondary camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and a thickness of 6mm.
