Gionee W900 flip droid phone will break cover with two screens this season
Gionee is on it again. Last time we heard about the Asian tech powerhouse, they released their uber-slim Gionee Elife S5.1 — which is officially recognized as world’s thinnest smartphone — in India for $307.
And now, we just came across a flip phone device with the phone maker’s name written on at TEENA. The device was entered as a Gionee W900 at the Chinese verification agency and among it’s specs is a 4″ 1080p display on the two sides of the flip.
The W900 also has a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, expandable 16GB of in-built storage, a 13MP camera, 5MP front-facing selfie unit, and a 2,050mAh battery cell. The entry also shows the device will pack support for LTE while it’s Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and A-GPS connectivities are norms but worth mentioning.
There’s no launch date or price plans available for the device but when we reached out to a Gionee representative in Nigeria, we were told that the Gionee W900 “will be announced by the end of 2014” but the spokesman refused to say which markets will the flip smartphone be available in.
