Google Assistant coming to Marshmallow and Nougat flavored Android units
When Google changed the naming system on their devices, they made the change from Nexus to Pixels and with the first Pixel Launch, the Google Assistant debuted. Since then, we have not seen this mobile assistant on any other unit until now. According to official information, Google is looking to make the Assistant available to units that are rerunning on the Marshmallow 6.0 and Nougat 7.0.
According to the calendar that they have released for the rollout of this feature to every Android user, it would first be made available in the US to English speakers during the course of the week. Likewise, English speakers in Australia, Canada and the UK would also get it in the same time frame.
For the German-speaking users in Germany, they have been promised the app in the same timeframe. To make sure everyone gets it soonest, Google has promised to keep adding more languages and releasing the Assistant to other regions too.
Google has also said that the Assistant would launch with newly announced partner companies, and that means that the LG G6 automatically gets it. We want to see how they manage around Samsung though, since the South Korean OEM already has plans to launch Bixby – their own mobile personal assistant technology.
