HTC confirms that they made the Pixel devices even if Google ‘forgot’ to mention that
When Google were launching their new line of devices with which they showed the world that they were really done with the Nexus naming system and that they would now be making use of “Pixel“ instead, they made an error by omission and touted the phone to be the first that would be designed and built by Google, leaving out one of the most important details of leaks that we have been getting up until now – that they were made by HTC.
In the heat of the moment and excitement generated about the latest addition that also interestingly, ran the new Nougat 7.1, no mention was made of the partner company, leaving us to doubt the truth behind the info we have been getting.
Now though, everything has been put to rest as the Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC in person of Jeff Gordon has confirmed that they were the official partners of the global software giant in the manufacture of the device.
This would not be the first time that these two brands would collaborate on a phone, given that their partnership had birthed the likes of the Nexus One form 2010, being the first Nexus device to hit the market.
