HTC One M8 Max phablet reportedly coming with 18MP camera, Android L
HTC is one of the biggest play makers in the Android phonisphere, forget their long absence in the news headlines for some running weeks.
According to information seeded from Taiwan which is the phone maker’s base, HTC ha got their hands dirty with a new smartphone which will represent the company’s One (M8) in the phablet category.
Dubbed the HTC One M8 Max, the upcoming smartphone is allegedly going to be unleashed with some Snapdragon 805 firepower. And oh, the screen is going to be 5.5 inches, a large bump from the 4.7″ on the HTC One (M8). Resolution is Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels), which brings about a PPI score of 534.
Unsurprisingly, the Max will be running on a HTC Sense 6.5-customised Android L OS — which Google ought to have released by then. The device will feature 3GB of RAM to aid the firepower and then a 2.7GHz quad-core CPU will also be present.
Given that last year’s HTC One M7 Max features a 4MP camera with the ever-complicated UltraPixel technology, this year’s Max will feature a rather odd 18MP camera though users will likely appreciate the large picture size than the latter which many often refer to as “gimmicky”.
However, there was no mention of a fingerprint sensor on the new device which was one of the main selling points of last year’s One Max. It’s highly unlikely there will be one as HTC seems to have lost interest in the technology since long.
