HTC’s ‘Hero Phone’ might be named A9, MediaTek chipset in tow
If you’ve been staying in touch with the latest tech trends, you should remember that HTC said it’s planning a hero phone — one that will save the Taiwanese company from the fangs of poor sales and negative financials it has been experiencing over several past quarters.
The HTC Aero — as the upcoming hero phone was internally codenamed — is going to have its final name as the HTC A9, reports from China claim.
The source further added that HTC will use one of MediaTek’s Helio X20 10-core CPUs to power the yet-to-be-released model while the glass on the phone’s screen will be carved out with 2.5D architecture.
Additionally, the HTC A9 will pack an all metal build and will be available in Tyrant Gold and Dark Gray, featuring variants between the price range of $470 USD and $626. US AT&T is said to be the first planned mobile network that will offer the smartphone in the Land Of The Free.
