Huawei Nexus 6P is also official, starts at $500
After introducing the LG Nexus 5X earlier today, Google has also unveiled the second Nexus smartphone of 2015, the Huawei-made Nexus 6P. What makes the 6P different from the first Nexus is that it stands taller and comes with a metal body; otherwise, both smartphones share similar features in most aspects.
The Android 6.0-running Huawei Nexus 6P comes with a 5.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 518 PPI. A USB type-C connector, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC antenna are some of the connectivity spikes of the handset. The device also sports a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, the all new Nexus 6P is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with a 64 bit octa-core CPU. The device features 3GB of RAM and comes with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of storage. The 32GB model will cost $500, 64GB goes for $550 while the variant with 128GB of storage capacity will set you back a whole $650.
Just like the 5X, the 12.3MP camera on the 6P lacks optical image stabilization but can record videos at 2160p. The front-facing 8MP camera on the phone can record HD videos at 30 frames per second.
Huawei Nexus 6P is backed by a 3450mAh battery for electricity. The 7.3mm-thick handset comes in silver, black, white and gold color flavors and weighs in at 178 grams.
