Indian smartphone market third largest in the world, covers 97% Android OS
India is one of the most populous nations in the world and this makes it a very huge market and base for anyone starting a business, especially one as the smartphone business. Currently, analysis has gone on to suggest that the smartphone market in India is the third largest one in the world and not stopping there, spelt a great deal of success for the Google Android OS because of all the smartphones present in the market, Android OS has a massive 97% stake in it. Isn’t that something?
While this would no doubt be bad news for cross country rivals (read: Apple), Android would be most pleased with the development it has made in this area of the world and if this trend is going anywhere, it is up.
The shipments of Apple products to the area in the past quarter fell by a massive 35% and one cannot really blame them but for the kind of diversity that android offers plus the fact that the Indian market is not one to splash money on flagships, android certainly seems the straight choice.
The likes of Xiaomi and other manufacturers are working day and night to present the best android devices with awesome specs at cheap prices and if this is made to go on for long enough, Apple might be holding less than 1% stake in this market.
