Internal sources say there is no Mate 9 launch in sight at IFA
We have already been gisted that Huawei would be holding an event on the first of September and that at this event, we would be seeing the launch of some new smartphones.
It is only logical that we expect the next smartphone that would keep on carrying the flag that would soon be dropped by last year’s Mate 8 and according to a news from an executive in the company, there are no plans in place to ensure that there is the launch of a Mate 9 smartphone at this event.
However, there would still be a phone launch and this one would be an offering from the midrange, according to the same source that failed to speak further on what specs the new smartphone would carry or what name it would even bear. With there not being any leak as to what series it would belong to, we are forced to think that this could be the rumoured device that is said would be made to suit women specifically and dubbed Nova for now, the only leaked image of it just shows a very long volume rocker.
If you are still keen on the Mate 9, the company plans to unveil a new set of smartphones in the coming months too.
