LeEco releases the Cool 1, affordable smartphone with dual camera setup
After LeEco’s purchase of a major share in the management of Coolpad and a device was jointly launched by both bodies, rumours started to make the rounds that LeEco is planning the launch of another smartphone soon. Touted to be named the Cool 1 and be sold as a flagship device, the major selling point of this one according to what we have heard so far would be the dual camera system that its snap shooter makes use of and becoming official today means that we don’t have to live off rumours anymore.
Coming with a build of 5.5 inches of screen, the resolution is set at 1080p and comes with a premium metal build. Deservedly so too because we wouldn’t take any less from any device that calls itself a flagship. Going on, there is a QUALCOMM snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood and this is coupled to variants of the device according to RAM of which we have the 3GB and 4GB variants.
This one borrows a page from the book of the Huawei made P9 that has a dual camera set up of 13MP units on the rear alone and while one takes pictures in monochrome, the other introduces colour to the equation to give your images 20% more clarity, according to LeEco themselves.
The front has not been forgotten with an 8MP unit there and for internal space, there are variants of 32GB and 64GB with options for expansion. Regards pricing, you can get the 3GB/32GB model for CNY 1099 ($166), the 4GB/32GB for CNY 1499 ($226) and the top tier 4GB/64GB for CNY 1699 ($257)
