LG announces availability and pricing information for the G6 in South Korea
LG has used a lot of words to sugar-coat and exalt the LG G6 that they have just launched, and that might be in a bid to both get the customer very interested and likewise, price the unit comfortably high. Well, the pricing has been reviled and with what we are seeing for even the home market, we are scared already for what this device would sell for in international regions.
There have been a few controversial choices and sacrifices that they made with this unit, most notably highlighted by the use of a QUALCOMM snapdragon 821 chipsets instead of the latest option, but we have decided to let that slide, up until now.
In the home market of LG, they are prepared to sell the unit for a massive KRW 889,800, and if you don’t know what that truly means, then you should think on the line of $800. The G6 is already set to start sales on the 10th day of March. This information is not a third-party leak of any sort but comes courtesy of an interview that was held with the mobile chief of the South Korean OEM.
While this might be due to the cost of component increasing and other manufacturing factors, we might have to wait for the launch of the Galaxy S8 family before we make further comments.
