LG teases its next flagship – LG G6 – to dump modular design and carry big screen
LG, for the first time in 6 years since they have been operating their Electronics arm, posted a loss and they would love to bounce back from that. One of the ways to do that is to launch a product in the market to help them gather some revenue and right now, it seems that they have casted all of their cards on the LG G6. For those of you that might be wondering, the G6 is nothing but the latest flagship device that they are yet to launch, but are already teasing.
Expected to be launched sometimes in the opening days of March, we have already seen this unit leak at some point in the past. Also, we got to see 3D renders of the unit which showed us that LG is quitting the modular design, and Friends would be replaced by a unibody design. After that, we were treated to the information that suggested the launch date and this was a logical option, just a moth after the Galaxy S8 flagship from Samsung.
Teasing the new device, LG announced yesterday that the unit would have an 18:9 aspect ratio, and carry a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. While the screen would be 5.7 inches when measured diagonally, it has been dubbed as the QHD+ display and supposed to cater to the needs of customers that would love to have a bigger screen. For now, they haven’t made mention of how they want to make this a flagship challenger for this year.
