LG to give up plan to use curved OLED screens on the LG G6
After the launch of the LG G5 flagship device, it is no doubt that LG would have already started to brainstorm on the smaller and finer detail of the G6 which would be but not be limited to facets such as the design, specs and overall build.
It is to this effect that the company has first expressed its wish to use curved OLED screens on the production of their next flagship but it seems that they would have to drop that aspiration and go for the conventional flat screens from LCD instead.
This is not due to the fact that they lack the expertise or tech needed to use this kind of screen technology but to the reason that their supplier when it comes to screens would not be able to meet the demands that they have laid out. Their production plant which they plan to establish in Gumi would have done much to alleviate the problem but for the fact that the establishment of that one does not tally with the timeframe that they had in mind for the G6, this means that they have to drop the idea altogether.
We expect that they finally start to shell out devices with curved displays on their other smartphones after the LG G6 timeframe.
