Lumia 940 XL full specs list outed: 5.7″ Quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC
If you’ve been waiting so long for a flagship Lumia handset to arrive, your prayer is about to be answered at long last as Microsoft’s upcoming Lumia 940 XL device just hit the benchmarks with full force.
A quick glance over the GFXBench page where the phone’s footprint was recorded revealed that the Microsoft Lumia 940 XL will have a phablet-sized 5.7-inch touchscreen display with 2K resolution. The most important part is that a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC will power the engine.
Despite the overheating reports, Microsoft has chosen to tread the lane with the latest high-end Qualcomm processor rather than take a step back towards a Snapdragon 801 or even pay license fees for an Exynos 7420 (the one used on the Galaxy S6) to Samsung.
Other things found in the Nokia Lumia 930 successor’s engine, according to GFXBench, includes a 1.5GB RAM (could rounded up to 2GB eventually), a 16GB storage, and an Adreno 430 GPU. The smartphone runs on “Windows Phone” but will likely get upgraded or even boot out of the box with Windows 10 when the former is released.
An 18-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front shooter does the photography job. There’s no mention of the device’s battery capacity since that aspect doesn’t get measured in benchmark tests.
The Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to arrive during the third quarter of 2015 although a specific launch date hasn’t been mentioned.
