Meet the another beastly THL Android phone with a 5000mAh battery
Six months have passed since THL unleashed the T5000 Ultraphone with a big bang — a 5000mAh battery to serve you for a few days without need for charging. The most interesting part being that you can actually use the phone to a charge other devices around, talk of a power bank.
And now, the Chinese company has released a successor for their Ultraphone. This, they simply call the THL 5000 (5000 for 5000mAh battery capacity).
Some specs of the THL 5000
- 5-inch 1080p display, 441 PPI
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB expandable storage
- 2GHz octa-core MediaTek CPU
- 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras
- 5000mAh battery
- Android 4.4 KitKat
As you can see, the new smartphone packs a fair deal of specs that’s pretty much similar to the ones on it’s predecessor. Save for the upgraded OS (Android Jelly Bean to KitKat) and the tiny shrink in size (144.9 x 72.3 x 8.9 mm vs 144.2 x 70.4 x 8.9 mm), the two phones are fairly the same.
If you are not living in China, you have a better chance of finding a unicorn in the streets than finding a THL 5000 unit in your local retail store.
However, the phone is on sale on a couple of online stores scattered across the Internet. The best deal we found was at Pompmall who’s selling at $249 per unit and they also accept Paypal and ship anywhere across the globe.
THL also has a smaller yet powerful version of the device. Call this one the THL 4000, it has a 4000mAh battery which can last over 800 hours on standby.
