Motorola shipped 6.5 million phones in the first quarter of this year
Motorola, the Google-owned phone maker that will soon be acquired by Lenovo, has announced it shipped 5 million mobile devices around the world during the first three months of 2014.
Not that 6.5 million units is that big, but it’s good to see a company bleeding red ink for quite a long time having some nice improvements.
There were days when 6.5 million in three months would sound underwhelming with Motorola. Years ago when there were no Android or iPhone. When they were still selling the Moto RAZR and other good old “Hello Moto” phones that were in vogue then.
Lenovo is expected to capitalize on the positive results to sharpen Motorola and put the company back in shape.
