Oppo R7 and R7 Plus come alive in official renders
Rumors have been making rounds about Oppo’s “bezeless R7 phone”, and eventually the larger Oppo R7 Plus also joined the fanfare. According to earlier reports, the Oppo R7 does not have side bezels, a claim dislodged by series of leaked photos we’ve seen over the past few weeks.
However, all hope is not lost for a bezeless phone with Oppo branding. A closer look into the supposed leaked official renders of the R7 duo that we laid our hands on today suggests the larger Oppo R7 Plus is void of side bezels. The images also go on to confirm that the Oppo R7 has visible casing around the two sides of the screen.
In terms of specs, a GFXBench entry showed up some hours ago detailing the R7 Plus as having a 5.9″ 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, a storage of 32 gigabytes, octa-core MediaTek MT6795 CPU tuned at 1.9GHz and two 8MP cameras — one for each side of the phone. The benchmark spreadsheet also shows the phone is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop which comes in as no surprise.
Finally, the Oppo R7 duo are expected to go official on May 20. On that day, we’ll be able to confirm everything we’ve heard about the two phones. For now, stay tuned.
