Reasons why you should buy Huawei Watch (according to Huawei)
Huawei’s new smartwatch has been the talk of the town for sometime, even stealing a lot of limelight from the Apple Watch who’s hype has generated a lot of keen interest to. But Huawei says you shouldn’t buy another smartwatch, not even the one by Apple. The phone maker says you should buy a Huawei Watch and here are the reasons:
1. Timeless Design
The Huawei Watch is one of the first smartwatches that looks like a real watch. That’s because it features a full circle design with true watch elements like the crown, frame, and lugs. Huawei’s watch designer Ben Norton, previous employee of watch-making giant Fossil, had this to say to The Verge, “I had this opportunity to start designing smartwatches, and had a vision shared by many of my colleagues to have a smartwatch that was very much like a traditional watch. We just believe that the consumer wants an actual watch that feels like a watch.”
2. Powered by Android Wear
The software platform behind the Huawei Watch is Google’s Android Wear – which intelligently delivers the most important notifications, messages, emails, calendar alerts, and more directly to your wrist. It also means that the Huawei Watch works with smartphones running Android 4.3 or newer (Visit g.co/WearCheck to see if your device is compatible).
3. World’s 1st Sapphire Crystal For Android Wear
Looking for a watch face that won’t scratch? The Huawei Watch is covered in sapphire crystal, which is almost two times harder than normal glass – and nearly as tough as a diamond. This premium material means it’s almost impossible to scratch.
4. Cold-forged stainless steel
Another premium material used in the Huawei Watch is the cold-forged stainless steel – Type 316L. Our cold-forged steel is 40% stronger than non-cold-forged, making it corrosion and scratch resistant.
5. Highest Resolution Android Wear Watch
The Huawei Watch features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 400×400 resolution. That means it has 286 pixels per inch, making it the highest resolution display available on an Android Wear device. The AMOLED display also offers an impressive 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
6. Crafted Like A Real Watch
A lot of hard work goes into making each Huawei Watch. A single watch contains 130+ components, 160+ steps done by hand, 260+ manufacturing steps, and 650+ hours of quality testing.
7. Three Cases To Choose From
Customers can choose from three stylish case colors including gold, silver, and black. Huawei also plans to release a premium gold version that is expected to contain 3 ounces of 24 karat gold.
8. Multi Strap Selection
Multiple stainless steel and leather bands will provide a number of options for consumers to customize their device. The Huawei Watches also uses a standard 18mm lug width, so users can swap out the band with any standard watch band of their choosing.
9. More Than 40 Customizable Watch Faces
In addition to the hundreds of watch faces that are available to download from Google Play, Huawei will also provide 40+ customizable faces for users to choose from. Huawei’s designer Ben Norton told The Verge, “Because of the quality of our display, we’re able to show the details of each dial very strongly. And because it’s electronic we have a lot of openness in functionality of how far we can go with the dials.”
10. Smart Fitness Tracking
The Huawei Watch can capture valuable fitness data with its 6-axis motion sensor, barometer for tracking elevation, and heart rate monitor.
11. Unique Huawei Wear Application
Huawei’s new health ecosystem includes a new Huawei Wear Android application that integrates with 3rd party health platforms like Google Fit and Jawbone’s Up Platform. “We’re delighted to be partnering with Huawei to bring the UP system to their handsets and wearables,” said Travis Bogard, vice president of product management and strategy at Jawbone. “Huawei is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer technology and this announcement allows us to greatly expand the UP platform, helping millions more people on the road to getting fit and healthy.”
12. All Day Battery Life
The Huawe Watch features a 300 mAh battery. That means the device will last on a single charge for 1.5-2 days for typical use.
