Rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 costs $300
If you are shopping for a smartphone that will bounce back when it accidentally hits the floor, you are putting the right device in your hands if you get yourself a copy of Samsung’s Galaxy Xcover 3. A contract-free unit of this rugged Android-powered smartphone costs only $300 in the United States where it had just gone on sale.
Sealed with MIL-STD-810G certification, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 resists all classes of water, dust and non major falls — to some extent. Rocking a Marvell Armada PXA1908 CPU, the device features a 4.5-inch WVGA display in a strongly built 10 mm-thick body. The memory holds a 1.5GB RAM with 8GB of expandable storage on board.
For photography, the Xcover 3 is equipped by a 5MP camera which can record videos in HD format as well. You can also take selfies using the phone’s 2MP front-facing secondary snapper. Finally, the whole thing is backed by a removable 2200 mAh battery but bad news is you won’t experience uber-speed downloads when you are getting your favorite movies because the sold model does not support US LTE bands.
