Samsung Galaxy S5 Active gets Android Lollipop upgrade
Looks like Samsung has upgraded all of the company’s 2014 flagships (and some from 2013). The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is the ever-rugged variant of last year’s Galaxy S5 and right now, the smartphone is getting an upgrade from Android 4.4 KitKat (which it ran on launch) to Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
Samsung is currently seeding an Android 5.0 update with build name G870FXXU1BOB4 to users in Europe right now and the update reportedly weighs a hefty 1.4GB so get your phone charged and Wi-Fi connected when attempting an upgrade.
As usual, the update brings a refreshed TouchWiz UI for Samsung phones, better battery and RAM managements, redesigned apps and a couple of goodies here and there. You can check for the upgrade yourself by going to the Automatic Updates menu in your phone settings.
