Samsung launches Galaxy E7 and E5 in India, releases Galaxy A5 and A3
While the 2015 CES is happening in Las Vegas, Samsung Mobile has taken its bandwagon to the other end of the world in India where the Korean company unveiled its much anticipated Galaxy E series smartphones. Two other existing Samsung smartphones — Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 — were also launched for the region at the same event.
The Samsung Galaxy E7, as expected features a 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM and a.12GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU alongside a Snapdragon 410 chipset. The smartphone runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat platform and uses a 13MP back camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie unit.
There’s no mention of LTE for the device, though there’s a dual SIM slot. Samsung has gradually adopted to non-removable battery system as shown with the new Galaxy E and even the Galaxy A series. The E7 houses a sealed 2950mAh battery unit. Nonetheless, it features a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
The Samsung Galaxy E7 comes in Black, White, Brown and will be sold for INR 23,000 (roughly $362) in the Indian market.
The Samsung Galaxy E5 is a smaller E7 variant. With the only major adjustments coming with the screen (5″ HD) and battery, 2400mAh, the Galaxy E7 also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front-facer.
Pricing for the Galaxy E5 is set at INR 19,300 for the time being.
