Sony’s Xperia C3 gets Android 5.1 Lollipop update
Over the past couple of weeks, Sony has been rolling out upgrade software for the company’s flagship ‘Xperia Z’ lineup smartphones, updating the devices with the latest version of Google’s mobile software platform, Android 5.1 which is also known as Lollipop. The Japanese phone maker has now sent out a similar update to one their phones called the Sony Xperia C3, reminding us of the huge importance of the midrange device on the company’s sales balance.
While the C3 isn’t such a ‘huge’ smartphone when judging by the handset’s specifications table, the device is in fact one of Sony’s best-selling mobile phones since 2014. The phone’s availability in a large number of markets has helped it to attain global popularity; the wide coverage was also aided by the product’s budget-level pricing at under $350.
If you are having a Sony Xperia C3, you should get the update once it’s available for your region, however, if you didn’t enable automatic updates on your device, you can query/request for your own share of the pie by heading to ‘Settings’ >> ‘About phone’ >> ‘System update’ >> ‘Check Now.’
The Sony Xperia C3 was officially announced in August 2014 sporting a 5.5″ HD touchscreen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera with flash, LTE connectivity and a 2500mAh Li-Ion battery.
