Which is more popular? Apple iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S6?
A lot has been said, compared and examined between the Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6. If it’s not the design, it’s the performance or the value of both phones. Today, we’ll take a look at both flagships and see which one ranks higher in the aspects of popularity.
While the iPhone 6 runs on Apple’s in-house-made iOS, its Samsung counterpart runs on a special Samsung customization of Google’s Android OS known as TouchWIZ UI. Both handsets come with a lot of sophisticated functions. While many will argue that the Galaxy S6 boasts of more functions, the other section of the crowd will agree that the iPhone 6 runs smoother amidst the less complicated features iOS provides.
The Apple iPhone 6 was welcomed with 4 million pre-orders in the night that followed its launching in September 2014. Though this number includes units of iPhone 6 Plus phablets, the two devices reportedly went on to land over 20 million pre orders in China less than a month later.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 on the other hand, was able to reach 10 million sales a month after its release. The figures were said to supersede the sales of the 2014-released Samsung Galaxy S5.
So we went to further to “ask Google” which phone is greater between the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6. Taking a look at the Google Keyword Research tool available from our Adwords dashboard, we found out how frequently people search for each smartphone on the Google search engine.
At first we thought the Samsung Galaxy S6 was winning until we tried out other variations of the keywords.
Woah there! The Apple iPhone 6 literally drowns the Samsung Galaxy S6 in terms of popularity on Google. Look at that! 24 million monthly searches vs. 2 to 3 million searches for the Galaxy S6.
In a race between a rabbit and a tortoise, it’s always more likely for the faster animal to finish the race first but with what happened between the proverbial rabbit and tortoise, it’s wise to see to the end of the race and that’s why we had to do the needful in order to ascertain who is who.
In conclusion, we found out that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is the weaker device when compared to the Apple iPhone 6 in terms of popularity, according to our tests. However, at the end of the day, it isn’t the fame that matters. What matters most is what suits your needs and your pocket — and that, you are going to buy.
