Xiaomi wants to disrupt the tablet market with a $100 slate
Yes, you read the title right. The daredevil company who’s responsible for products that make Black Friday sales look like rip offs will be launching a $100-priced tablet which, according to our frank prediction, will stir a storm at the bottom of the tablet PC market.
Reports coming from China this weekend suggest that the Redmi Note maker will produce another tablet to follow up it’s Xiaomi Mi Pad slate. The source quotes that Xiaomi has a 9.2″ tab which will break cover early 2015 rolled up it’s sleeve.
The tablet will be having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels backed with 1GB of RAM and a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. On board the device will be two cameras on either faces, with 8GB of native storage in board.
Xiaomi smartphones sell like hotcakes, we all know. If the company will be able to replicate the low-price to high spec model it uses in the phone business, the likes of Apple iPads and Samsung Tabs might be in for a heavy loss of market share.
The privately-owned Chinese tech outfit is currently ranked as the third top-selling phone vendor in the world after racking up huge sales numbers in only 5 countries this year.
