Xiaomi firm on 100-million-smartphone adventure
Chinese phone maker Xiaomi, earlier this year told the world how they’ll like to sell 100 million smartphones in 2015 having reached their 60 million milestone last year. And today again, CEO Lei Jun maintained that his company is still keen on reaching the goal.
At Xiaomi’s Global Supplier Conference which was held today in China, Jun urged suppliers to get ready for a lot of demand this year. “I hope you make sure to complete the production tasks, thus making it easier for the users to buy the phone,” he said.
Xiaomi started out nearly five years ago as a start-up that creates custom ROMs for Android phones — at a time Xiaomi phones were non existent. These ROMs MIUI looked similar to Apple’s iOS’ appearance.
