Following the release of the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS update, there have been many developers who have taken on the task to develop the custom ROM for the OS update especially for smartphones not listed to officially get the OS update.
The Google Pixel 2 XL has however been hinted to most likely be coming with the Always On Display feature seeing as the smartphone which will be a successor to the Pixel XL will come running on the latest OS out of the box.
However, for users who do not have the patience to wait for the upcoming device, you can get your groove on with the Always On Display as one user on the XDA forum has found a way to run the feature on any rooted device running the Android 8.0 Oreo.
This spells good news for most users who were not gifted the Always On Display as part of the Android 8.0 Oreo OS rollout.
To get the Always On Display grooving on your Android 8.0 Oreo OS running device, all you need do is a mere modification to the AmbientDisplayConfiguration.java which will automatically add the Always-On Display option under the Settings options.
You can then proceed to change the status of the option from ‘false’ to ‘true’.
