Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kitkat®!
Google has announced the next version of it’s world-leading mobile OS Android, will be called Android OS version 4.4 KitKat. This announcement came rather as a surprise as Google has just released Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in July; The 4.3 Jelly Bean being a disappointment though.
Google’s Android was founded in 2005 and later backed and publicly presented by Google in 2007. Android is a Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.
