Android 8.0 Oreo finally lands on Google distribution chart

Google has finally landed the Android 8.0 Oreo on its updated Google distribution chart. The listing also comes with data over the seven days period which ends on Monday, October 2, 2017 about the number of devices running the Android OS platform.

The latest version of the Android OS was released some weeks ago with the Android 8.0 Oreo having been released for the Pixel and Nexus series of devices.

The tech company also revealed that 0.2 percent of devices are actively running on the Android 8.0 Oreo OS.

The tech company however revealed that the number of Android devices running on the Android 8.0 Oreo OS is expected to increase considerably in the coming weeks.

The list also shows that the Android Nougat OS (Android 7.0 and Android 7.1) running on devices across the globe is pegged at 17.8 percent.

The information comes following sporadic increase in the number of phones running on the Android 8.0 Oreo OS in the past weeks as more and more smartphone brands have joined in the push of the latest Android OS update.
