During the 2014 IFA which should be happening live come September, Sony is expected to introduce two tablets and one of them is the Sony’s Z3 Tablet Compact.
The Japanese OEM mistakenly posted a promo picture of the tablet being held by a man whose face is not shown to the camera sitting by a swimming pool, with splashes of water on the slate. All these mean that the Z3 Tablet Compact will bear water resistance, a feature that Sony has standardized it’s flagship phones with, and lately on it’s Z tablet also.
However, a blog that calls itself Android Origin has said that the tab is being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip and 3GB of RAM, and that the presence of 16GB of expandable storage is inevitable.
According to the source, the Sony Z3 Tablet Compact will come equipped by a home-baked Exmor RS camera unit with an 8MP sensor, and there’s support for NFC and LTE.
Screen size for the tablet is said to be between 7 inches and 8 inches and that throws some kind of uncertainty into the whole story. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed as we await September 4.
