The manufacturers of the Elephone S8 have revealed that the tech company was at some point caught between making the right decision for the material from which the device would be made.
According to the tech company, it deliberated fiercely on the consideration of Zinc alloy in the production of the device although it ended up going for the more expensive Aluminum alloy finishing for the smartphone.
The tech company revealed that it chose the Aluminum alloy finishing for the smartphone after considering all options and in order to give the device a more premium finish.
The tech company further stated that while Zinc alloy would have been a perfect material in terms of attractiveness and low cost, it’s major disadvantage is the low precision during cutting and the fact that it tarnishes faster compared to the Aluminium alloy.
The Aluminum alloy finishing also provides a lighter and more precise cutting although it is estimated to be 15 times more expensive.
The Aluminum alloy finishing was also reported to have improved the GPS and Bluetooth signal strength.
