Earlier today, we told you how Gionee is prepping to boast their catalog with four smartphones for customers who plan to do their shopping this season.
Among the four smartphones (Gionee Elife S5.1, CTRL V6, Pioneer P6 and Marathon M2), it’s the last one, the Marathon M2 that stands out in a very special way — the battery capacity. The other devices might be special in their own respective ways, but then it’s the battery we are looking at on this particular piece.
Gionee introduced the Marathon M2 last year; the device came with a 4200mAh battery, awesome. However this year’s M3 is purportedly having a yet larger 5000mAh battery unit inside. What this means is that you are going to have a smartphone that surpasses your friends’ in battery life and you can help them charge their own cell phone using the M3 as a power bank (the M2 also has this feature), if you have one.
Asides the battery juice, the Gionee Marathon M3 will pack other things inside which includes a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie unit. The phone still maintains the 5-inch screen size of it’s predecessor but the resolution has been scaled up to 720 x 1280 pixels, boosting the phone’s PPI to 294 pixels per inch.
It’s also important to note that the latest Marathon will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone is expected to break cover anytime this month or the next.
