Gionee set to launch M3, Pioneer P5 and CTRL V6 smartphones

Gionee Mobiles is on fire. The Chinese tech company has set up an array of four smartphones which are bound to be released before the end of this year even as things haven’t been declared officially.

Among the pack is the world’s slimmest smartphone, the Gionee Elife S5.1, whom we already know before as the world’s slimmest smartphone. The other three are successors for existing Gionee smartphones such as the battery monster — Gionee Marathon M2, Pioneer P4 and the CTRL V5.

Marathon M3

Firstly, we have the the Gionee M3 which comes with a 5000mAh battery as against the 4200mAh juice found on it’s predecessor.

The new smartphone still has a 5″ display but the resolution was scaled up to HD from FWVGA. There’s 1GB RAM, 8MP camera, 2MP front-facer and finally a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU which we suspect to be from MediaTek.

Pioneer P5

Next, there’s the Gionee Pioneer P5 which comes with a 4.7″ FWVGA screen, it’s biggest improvement from last year’s P4 with 4.5 inches of touchscreen. Powering the latest Pioneer will be a quad-core CPU tuned at 1.3GHz which Gionee say will have LTE support.

The smartphone is running on Android 4.4 KitKat just like the other three and features a gig of RAM, a 1800mAh battery and 5MP/2MP rear and front camera setup.

Gionee features a fourth phone in it’s aggressive campaign in the last quarter of 2014. The CTRL V6 (listed as Gionee CTRL V6L) will sport a 5-inch 720p display, 8MP/5MP camera, 1.2GHz quad-core processor (a possible Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset), 1GB of RAM and a 2000mAh battery.
No pricing or release date has been made known for all four smartphones except for the Elife S5.1 which is to begin retailing in China  priced $325. The aluminum-clad phone will be sold in Nigeria too at a price reported to be in the range of 40,000 Nigerian naira.
