Auto-playing of videos sometimes are detrimental to your data as most often than not, the videos not needed are the ones loaded and playing either in the background or on display.
Disabling auto-play however is not hard on all your social media platforms, importantly, for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Here’s how to go about disabling the function on your smartphone.
Disabling Auto Play for Twitter:
Step 1: Click on your Twitter profile picture
Step 2: Locate the “Settings and Privacy” option
Step 3: Proceed to tap the Data usage > Video autoplay > select the Never option
For Apple Smartphone users, iOS, note that the same steps above is applicable
Disabling Auto Play for Instagram:
Step 1: Access your Instagram profile page
Step 2: Click on the three dots on the upper right corner of your phone screen
Step 3: Tap on the Cellular Data Use option and turn on The “Use Less Data” option.
Disabling Auto Play on Facebook on Android:
Step 1: Open the Facebook app and click on the three-horizontal line located on the right hand corner of your phone screen.
Step 2: Locate the app settings and click on it.
Step 3: Locate the Auto play option and choose the never auto play video prompt.
For iOS users,

Step 2: Locate Settings > Account Settings > Go to Videos and Photos > Autoplay > Choose ‘Never Auto-play Videos’.
