HTC has unveiled the Butterfly J as the Butterfly 2 for in Asia. The HTC Butterfly J was earlier announced on Japan’s KDDI network exclusively and now the smartphone will be available for other carriers in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, with more markets likely in tow.
HTC Butterfly 2 comes with a 5.0-inch Full HD display. The camera setup looks similar to the HTC One (M8) — a duo back camera with a 13MP sensor being the main camera. A third snapper sits on the front of the phone as a secondary camera.
Under the hood, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC which brings LTE support and 2160p video recording at 30 frames per second.
The chipset is aided by a 2.5GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 graphics processor.
Finally, there’s a 2700mAh user-removable battery powering the Butterfly 2. HTC is targeting hot Asian teen girls as the demographic — or at least that’s what the commercials for the smartphone shows.
