Huawei’s C199S features a 5.5-inch screen and 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset

Huawei on Monday dropped a new midrange smartphone whose profile is all about size. The Huawei C199S features a massive 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen with 720p resolution, summing for a 267 PPI.

The C199S features a 64-bit Qualcomm SoC which makes it possible for anĀ  LTE-enabled dual SIM slot. The Snapdragon 615 processor is powered by 8 cores of Cortex-A53 CPU cores divided into two packs with one side running at 1.0GHz and the other at 1.7GHz. This configuration aids in efficient processing of big tasks while the battery and resources are conserved for smaller tasks.

Huawei C199S runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system with EMUI 3 atop. The device has 16GB of in-built storage space as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion. There’s 2GB of RAM on board as well.

For photography, the handset sports a 13-megapixel camera which comes fully equipped with a LED flash and a front-facing selfie snapper. The phone’s 7.6mm thick body is covered in aluminum and tips the scale at 167 grams. There’s also a huge 3000mAh battery but for now, we don’t know if this battery is user-removable.


Though Huawei is yet to announce global availability for this device, you can easily get one for yourself from though you have to be careful with the network bands compatibility with your country/carrier’s frequencies.

Huawei C199S is listed at Vmall for CNY 2,300 which roughly translates to $370 using the current exchange rates. That’s it folks. Are you buying Huawei’s C199S?
