Microsoft has seeded the latest sales information of the company’s quarterly assessment of the third quarter of 2014, also known as the first fiscal quarter of 2015. Contained in the report is good news about the company’s smartphone line, the Nokia Lumia brand.
Microsoft said it had shipped 9.3 million units of Nokia Lumia smartphones, the highest that has ever been done in one quarter — including when the brand was handled by Nokia Finland.
Compared to last year’s Q1, Microsoft saw a 25 percent increase in the company’s entire revenue for the quarter which ended at $23.2 billion, exceeding analysts’ expectations of only $22 billion.
Microsoft also announced huge success at it’s tablet arm as revenue earned from sales of Surface tablets doubled to $908 from the $400 echoed from this same point last year.
