10 months ago Project Fi was launched, this was an invitation to MVNO cellular service and till now it took few days for someone to get invite.
But starting this day, Fi dropped its invitation system and now open for everyone who wants to sign up without any waiting.
So Project Fi uses both Sprint’s Cellular and T-Mobile networks in order to provide its users the fastest service. But this service is only available to US, but according to Google data 15 percent customers used Fi abroad over 120 supported countries.
So the average customer uses 1.6 gigabytes data allocated per month, likely due to Wi-Fi Assistant that automatically connects every user to a high quality public hotspots via VPN. Google data also shows that more than 50 percent customers connect to public hotspot using Assistant.
Besides Fi dropping its invite method in order to sign up, everything else remains at is. Still the $25 base price for the unlimited calling and the unlimited texting and $10 for 1 gigabyte use date will be charge.
But this time, in order to entice people to immediately sign up, Google now taking a $150 off on its Nexus 5X product. So the 16 gigabytes 16GB device model starts at $199, while 32 gigabytes is $249 when the purchased was done via Project Fi. This offer is limited only to one device per one customer and valid until April 7 only.
