Several hours after the news of Micromax’s release of Yu powerbanks on the platforms of popular Indian e-commerce website, Snapdeal, the home-based company has unleashed yet another product targeted towards the price-conscious section of the mobile crowd.
The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 was unveiled this afternoon. The entry-level handset is also a Snapdeal exclusive and will go on retail in a flash sale event scheduled to kick off on 12 noon September 30. Registrations have already commenced at the e-commerce website.
Spec-wise, the Canvas Spark 2 is featuring a 5″ FWVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing secondary camera. Powering the device is an unnamed quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz alongside 1GB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone can accept memory cards with capacity up to the tune of 32GB.
On the software side, Micromax Canvas Spark 2 runs on the very latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, however, the phone’s 1800mAh battery seems to pose a major let down compared to the screen size. Regardless of that, Micromax claims that the battery can sustain the device through 300 hours of standby.
In terms of pricing, as earlier mentioned, Micromax Canvas Spark 2 will cost INR 3,999 during the flash sale. The amount roughly translates to $61 using the current exchange rates found on Google.
