Nokia has published financial reports for Quarter 3 of 2013, ending September. Nokia Group had a operational profit of $7.79 billion in 2103 Q3, representing a 22% decline from 2012 Q3. They however recorded a $162.40 million profit for the Quarter 3 of 2013, a sharp contrast to the $776.23 loss they swallowed in the 2012’s Quarter 3.
However, Nokia Devices and Services — the department Microsoft is set to acquire — posted $3.99 billion in total sales, a 19% decrease from 2012’s Q3. Nokia Devices and Services posted an operating loss of $118.36 million, an improvement from the $924.87 million loss suffered in last year’s Quarter 3.
Nokia reported 8.8 units of smart devices sold in the quarter, with Nokia Lumias dominating most of the numbers, a 40 % increase from last year’s Q3. Revenue was up 28% to €1.254 billion.
