Microsoft was live in the Philippines to ignite sales of their newly announced Nokia X2 smartphone. The smartphone was launched at a suggested retail price of P6,990, which represents $100 when converted to US dollars.
“The Nokia X2 was designed to help the next billion people connect to the mobile Internet and cloud services, affordably,” a spokesman for Microsoft, Karel Holub, commented.
The Nokia X2 is a good bet at $100 considering the specs ain’t bad at all — a 4.3″ WVGA display with a PPI score pegged at 217, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 5MP/0.3MP camera setup that’s equiped with flash. Let’s not forget the phone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
