And…finally, it’s here. OnePlus’ most anticipated (and only) smartphone has landed in India. The 64GB (Sandstone Black) model of the ‘flagship killer’ smartphone is priced 21,999 rupees $355 in US dollars using the current exchange rates. No mentions were made of the 16GB (Silk White) version of the device.
But then, it’s not all hallelujah for Indian customers. For now, potential buyers still need to lay hands on invites before completing the order via Amazon.in. Amazon offers a 10-day return policy for the One.
“Our company focuses first on our users and our product. We want to provide the best possible experience for our Indian users who have been so supportive of our vision.
“To do that, we are investing heavily in our Indian operations and partnering with the fastest growing and most admirable e-commerce company in the market, Amazon.in,” company CEO Pete Lau explained during the launch ceremony.
In terms of hardware, the OnePlus One comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras, a 3100mAh battery and a single SIM slot. The device will boot on Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, customized with CyanogenMod 11S user interface.
