Oppo has officially pulled back the covers on the Oppo A83 smartphone which has been in the news for some weeks following the leak of its official renders and expected specs.

Shortly after the release of the Oppo A75 and the Oppo A75s, the tech company pulled back the covers on the A83 which comes into the market running on an octa-core processor clocked at the speed of 2.5GHz.

For specs, the Oppo A83 comes with a 5.7-inch display screen and a display resolution pegged at 720 x 1440 pixel.

Under the 18:9 aspect ratio display loaded on the A83 is 4GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal memory space.

The Oppo A83 comes into the market packing a 13MP camera sensor on the back panel and an 8MP front shooter.

The Oppo A83 comes measuring 150.5 × 73.1 × 7.7mm and weighs in at 143g.

Sadly, the latest smartphone from Oppo runs on the old Android 7.1 OS and packs a 3,090mAh battery.

The Oppo A83 however brings an addition for security conscious people as the device comes packing a facial recognition technology that the company claims can unlock the device within 0.18 seconds.

The Champagne Gold and Black color variants of the device will be available for $215 and will go on sale in China on December 29.
