Samsung Galaxy Note 7 lumped in ice undergoes drop test

It is not the first time that we would see a big smartphone launch and then in the weeks after that, there would be a series of tests on it from independent bodies to know things such as its speed, rigidity, military rating and the likes.

The same has gone for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and so far, it has even had a scratch test that irked Corning so much that they had to defend their Gorilla Glass 5 technology. With that in mind, there has been a new innovative test for this new king of the big screens and this one is aimed at nothing more than to determine the strength of the device and establish the strength of its IP68 rating.

First, they enclosed the device in a block of ice for as long as 23 hours and then went ahead to drop the whole package from as high as 100 feet and you wouldn’t have guessed that it held its own very well, not even entertaining a single scratch on it after this planned accident.

The phone remained fully functional and we think that with this kind of military strength, the smartphone is justifying its price tag every day.
